Well first up, I wasn’t always a professional investor. After graduating with a first-class honours degree in computer science, I spent many years working as a freelance IT consultant. It was well paid but very boring, and I spent many a night holed up in a hotel somewhere wishing that I could just be at home in my own bed.
So, I decided to do something about it.
Instead of sitting around and moaning, I set to work to figure out how to achieve my financial independence. It took me several years, but I finally cracked the code and realised it was actually pretty simple. You need to stop chasing get-rich-quick schemes and invest in assets that spin-off regular and predictable cash flow.
